Narrows Too Camping Resort (by Asher)
Narrows Too was on the Mount Desert Narrows. We could look across the water and see Mount Desert Island, which contains Acadia National Park.
Later dad found a different stamp on a rock that was pointing toward the first stamp.
We went to Jordan Pond and Eagle Lake.
When we went to Acadia, we went to the visitors center, checked in, and got our junior ranger books. Then we drove up Cadillac Mountain, the highest point in Acadia at 1,530 ft. We had fun playing on the rocks there. We also had fun taking pictures like we were falling off a cliff because from farther away, the rocks looked like a cliff.
Since Cadallac Mt. was the tallest point in Acadia, it had some really great veiws.
We were at the gift shop and dad came over holding some wild blueberries. We went back up to where he found them to look for more blueberries and to look for a small metal stamp that marked the true summit. When we went up there, I ran and jumped up on a bolder and I was startled to find the stamp there. It was about three inches in diameter.
Dad and I were sitting on a rock when Jordan, Caleb and mom found a big patch of wild blueberries.
While dad and I were siting on the rock this guy came over.
After Catallac Mountain, we drove Park Loop Rd. We stopped at sand beach, the only sandy beach in Acadia. The water was really cold, and I learned that there is a twelve foot difference between high and low tides.
We stopped at the Wild Gardens of Acacia, a garden with a bunch of different native plants in it.
We went to Otter Point and the rocks were really fun to run and play on.
There is a place called Thunder Hole, and at the right time it should do something like this:
We didn't get there at the right time so instead it looked something like this:
The carrage roads were really nice. They were all gravel and about ten feet wide.
We stopped at a pond made by a beaver dam. The pond caused the trees to die and lean over.
We explored a little bit and I found a rock that had a crack in it and water was coming out.
I was looking at the water when a frog swam up and climed onto a log. We were looking at it and someone noticed that there was another frog on the log.

After Witch Hole we drove over to a parking lot, and we biked up a long hill to a bridge with a waterfall framed in the archway (blue on the map).
As you may have guessed, coming down the hill was really fun.
On the day we left, after dad got back, we all went to Schoodic Peninsula and had a really fun time running and jumping and climbing at Schoodic Point.
So glad you were able to go there. I've always wanted to but probably never will. It is very beautiful. Nana
ReplyDeleteGreat blog post Asher! I'm jealous. Your family is getting to see some really beautiful parts of the country. Those pictures that make it look like you're hanging onto a cliff make me queasy. They really look like you've gone over the edge of the cliff! I'm sure it was fun to pick the wild blueberries, but I'll bet your Michigan blueberries tasted better! Tell everyone in your family to keep the blogs coming. We really enjoy reading them. Gramps
