Donaldson Farms / New York City (by Caleb)

We arrived at Donaldson Farms at about 10:00. It had a huge yard with a huge garden where they grew all sorts of things. It also had a greenhouse and a store next to the greenhouse where they sold all kinds of fruits and vegetables.

The next morning we took advantage of the fresh and local foods. The workers said this is the first day this year that they sold peaches, so I guess the timing worked out perfectly.

We dropped the peaches, the honey, the muffins, the blueberries, the lettuce and everything else off at the RV and then got in the car and headed off to New York City.

As we were going we went over the Washington bridge, which is a huge suspension bridge going across the Hudson river. On the other side we drove into a parking deck, which if we had been 6 inches taller, we wouldn't have fit. Then we got out and the guy who owned the parking deck drove our car away.

Our first stop was Central Park. We walked around and played on a playground. Then we walked to Central Park Zoo, where we saw penguins, a snow leopard, a grizzly bear, monkeys, birds, sea lions and more. Then we went to a short Ice Age film with 3D glasses and also went to a very small children's zoo.

Then we headed to Times Square. On our way to Times Square we stopped for New York style pizza in New York!

After lunch, Dad gave us each a twenty dollar bill to buy something at Times Square. After a bit of walking, we stopped at some gift shop and we looked around a little bit. I saw nothing that I wanted. While I was waiting, I saw what I really wanted on a display that contained tons of pocket knifes with all different names on them. I found one that said Caleb and went to dad and said, "this is what I want" and he said "ok." Then I went to check out.

After I was done we went through Times Square to the M&Ms store. Jordan and Asher got a bag of M&Ms. Then we headed down a road and stopped at Chick-fil-A for mom to eat something for lunch, because she couldn't eat anything at the pizza place.

We next went to Grand Central Station and took the subway to a free ferry and rode to Staten Island and back. We rode by the Statue of Liberty. Then when we got back to Manhattan, we walked to Freedom Tower/One World Trade Center and then took the subway back to the car.

I didn't realize how late it was or how hungry I was until we stopped at McDonalds for dinner. I got a hamburger and ate it so fast I even surprised myself. It was another hour until we got home and went to bed. I dreamed of crazy, rich people who lived in New York who had pet dragons and lived in a zoo and were senators.

In the morning we left for Plymouth, Massachusetts.
