Michigan City Campground / Chicago (by Caleb)

When we arrived in Michigan City Campground, we unpacked and went over our arrival check list, then we hopped in the car and headed to the Indiana Dunes National Park. We got in the car quickly because it was already 4:12 and we wanted as much time at the dunes as possible.

When we got there we got out and hiked one of the trails up a small dune and down. Then we went down a road to a beach and swam for a little bit then played in the sand a little bit. After I played in the sand I went over to a hill and started digging a hole. It got bigger and bigger until I had to place my knees on either end to reach down and scoop handfuls of sand out. When it was done I called it mammoth cave for it's size.

Then we walked back to the parking lot. I noticed that on a post there was a cicada molting! We stayed there until the cicada came all the way out and got its wings unfolded, then we went home and went to bed 😴😴😴.

In the morning we went to a different beach in the Indiana Dunes. We were going to go on a trail that went on a dune, but it was closed. So we walked down a trail to the beach, but when we got there we got a surprise. The trail came out on a dune!

We all had fun running down and we climbing up again. After playing at the beach for awhile, we got in the car and drove to Schoop's for lunch. Then after lunch we hopped on a train and went to Chicago.

At Chicago we first walked down and along Lake Michigan's shore (a concreate ledge covered in goose poop) to Navy Pier. At Navy Pier we went on a huge Ferris wheel. From the top of the Ferris wheel we could see a lot of tall buildings and a lot of boats at the pier. (One of the cars would get a better view because it had a glass bottom.)

After the Ferris wheel we went to some fountains and played in them. Jordan got soaked. While we were at the fountains Asher and dad went to go get dinner, while we went to get a Sprite.

After a little inconvenience with getting the Sprite, we headed to where dad said he would meet us, The Bean, which was a giant mirrored structure which looked an awful lot like a giant upside down bean... well that's because it was a giant upside down bean.

After dinner at the giant upside down bean we walked to the train station, went home and went to bed 😴😴😴😴😴.
