Turquoise Trail Campground (by Jordan)
We had to call the person at the campground before we arrived so we could get Number 1 and Number 2 Halloween gifts at the office. I wore a Rey costume. Caleb wore a robber costume and he made his own mask and gun. Asher wore a ninja costume. We met a cute and playful dog named Wesley there. He liked playing fetch with his tomato ball. The Number 1 present was glow sticks and the Number 2 present was Smarties, Oreos, a glow ball, Cracker Jacks, more glow sticks and candy. I felt good about that!
We went to a Trunk or Treat. At the Trunk or Treat we got to hold a tarantula. He was cute! (The office person's son used to pick up tarantulas and put them all over his arms.)
After getting more candy, we went to a neighborhood to get lots of candy! Most of the houses had gates on them. The lawns were made out of rocks so they wouldn't need a lawnmower. At one house, we got to pet a Great Pyrenees dog. When we left, I was so tired that I was dragging my candy bag. We had to go pick up dad from the laundromat. We got clean sheets and clean bodies that night! It was normal to have dirt in my bed, so I loved it!
After school on Monday, we made dog treats. On Tuesday, we gave them out.
After dinner we played Scattergories and I was the judge.
On Wednesday, we found pigeons and a playground.
On Thursday, we went to the library. I read, The Nameless City, Cleopatra in Space, Dream Jumper, a turtle book, a hamster book and a dog book. Afterwards, we went to a park.
On Friday, Caleb and I made scrambled eggs for mom and dad. For school, I drew pigeons and me playing in the snow, while mom read about Harriet Tubman and slavery. I wouldn't want to be a slave because I wouldn't want to get whipped. I wouldn't want to do a lot of chores, and I wouldn't want to be sold or have ticks on me or live in a nasty house.
After school, we went to 2 police stations to turn in a knife found at the playground, but they were closed. We went to Great Clips because Caleb and I needed a hair trim. Next, we went to Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby and Walmart to shop for Christmas presents.
On Saturday Dad fixed a drawer and a door while Caleb had his cookie sale. I liked it because I was able to lick the brownie and cupcake bowls!
On Sunday, we saw a roadrunner by the swingset before we left to Carlsbad KOA Holiday in New Mexico.
