Canadian Blog to and from Alaska (by Jordan)
When we got to Canada, we went to Canyon Alpine RV Park. I gathered firewood with Caleb. It helped keep some of the bugs away. but there was still a ton of mosquitos. We had pasta outside that night. We ate quickly because it soon started raining.
Mom did a lot of laundry while we were there.
We got huge popsicles. It took me a while to eat it all (it was not the fact that it was big; it was the fact that we had ice cream in the freezer).
The next RV park was called Whiskers Point. There was a new playground there we played with kids a little bit but, like the last place, the mosquitos were bad.
The next place was the 341 milepost pullout. We stayed the night and then we continued on our way.
The RV park after that was Liard Hot Springs. As you might have guessed, it has natural — and relaxing, I might add — hot springs! Don't worry, there was still a lot of mosquitos there but not so many at the hot springs. We stayed there two nights and we went the hot springs twice. The hot springs were 117 degrees at its source.
Next, we went to Pioneer RV Park. It was basically a big parking lot and wasn't very nice.
Our last place in Canada was Kluane Lake boondocking site. It was a quiet place for the night and I liked that. There was a rocky pond with fireweed. The bunnies liked eating the fireweed. There I cleaned the bunnies' cage. The bunnies really liked that.
...to be continued after Alaska...
We went down the rough and narrow Stewart-Cassiar Highway.
We went to Jade City where there was a lot of jade. In the store there was jade earrings, jade necklaces, jade souvenirs, and a bunch of other useless things. We did not buy any jade, but we looked around and there were some pretty weird stuff. It was SUPER DUPER expensive. A small bracelet was about 60 dollars!
Next we went to A&W and Dad talked to one of the workers there. He said he had not been out of Canada. We got some A&W drinks with icy cups. I got a cheeseburger that I ate half of it... almost.
We stayed at Beaumont Provincial Park and it was pretty boring.
Next, we went to Jasper National Park and we parked in the Columbia Icefield Center parking lot.
The next day, we went on a bus with monster truck tires on a glacier.
The glacier area that we were kept into had to small rivers next to it. I had snow boots so I could just run on the glacier but the others did not. The glacier river water was so cold!
I threw ice at Caleb, Asher, Mom, and Dad. We had cold chocolate that we brought.
We went on a skywalk that was shaped into a horseshoe. I don't know why they put it there cause there is really nothing cool around it.
